Xiaomi has just officially unveiled its latest smartphone in China, and it looks like nothing the brand has offered so far. By combining outsized dimensions with the endurance of a power bank, the Redmi Note 17 blurs the lines for good.

An unprecedented 7-inch OLED screen

The Redmi Note 17 stands out immediately for its sheer size. Xiaomi has fitted it with a huge flat 7-inch OLED panel, the largest ever seen on a device in the Redmi range. That XXL diagonal turns the phone into a genuine e-reader and pocket console, without sacrificing display quality:

• Resolution: FHD+ (2396 x 1080 pixels).

Under the bonnet, the focus is on energy efficiency. The Redmi Note 17 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 platform built on a 4 nm process. The Redmi Note 17 series finally goes international

The Redmi Note 17 range begins its official rollout beyond Chinese borders from 18 August 2026, with Malaysia the first international market to welcome the devices. This is a decisive step: while the launch does not yet mean immediate European availability, it makes the Global Versions of these phones official and paves the way for later launches in other regions.

Three models make up this international launch:

• Redmi Note 17: Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, 7-inch OLED screen, 8,000 mAh battery, 45 W charging, 50 Mpx main sensor and IP65 certification.
• Redmi Note 17 Pro: Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen at 120 Hz, 9,000 mAh battery, 50 Mpx main sensor paired with a 2 Mpx depth sensor and high-resistance IP69K certification.
• Redmi Note 17 Pro Max: An entirely new variant within the Note range, fitted with a silicon-carbon battery of up to 10,000 mAh.

Xiaomi has not yet announced pricing for these international variants.
