📌 Update of 17 August 2026: according to leaker Kartikey Singh (@That_Kartikey), the Oppo Find X10 Ultra could ultimately remain a China-only device when it launches in the first half of 2027. That decision is said to stem from the sharp rise in memory costs, a squeeze that is reportedly also pushing Vivo to restrict its X500 Ultra and Xiaomi to cancel its 18 Ultra outright. Nothing has been confirmed officially by the brand.
With the standard Find X10, X10 Pro and X10 Pro Max expected this autumn (between September and October 2026), the manufacturer is holding its secret weapon back for later. The brand’s product chief, Zhou Yibao, has officially confirmed that the Oppo Find X10 Ultra will not arrive this year, but in the first quarter of 2027.
The first leaks shared by Digital Chat Station describe a technological monster built to crush all competition in long-range photography.
An unexpected retreat to the Chinese market?
This is the bombshell buried in the latest leaks: while the previous generation marked a major milestone by opening the Oppo Find X9 Ultra up to international markets, Oppo is said to be backpedalling with this new iteration.
If these whispers prove accurate, the Find X10 Ultra would be sold exclusively in China at launch. Such a step back would deny buyers outside the country official access to the pinnacle of the brand’s optical engineering. The main reason is reportedly the general surge in component costs, particularly DRAM and NAND Flash memory chips monopolised by the artificial intelligence industry, which makes worldwide distribution of extreme engineering handsets especially risky financially.
The trend goes well beyond Oppo alone: Vivo is tipped to take the same route with its X500 Ultra, while Xiaomi is said to be dropping its 18 Ultra altogether.
A dual periscope to shatter the limits of zoom
For its ultimate model, Oppo is testing an unprecedented and particularly ambitious configuration pairing two separate periscope telephotos alongside a 50-megapixel main sensor of roughly 1-inch format, calibrated with Hasselblad:
- The first periscope: a massive 200-megapixel sensor (around 1/1.3-inch), dedicated to tight portraits and medium shots, with high sharpness and a gradual background blur. The brand has yet to settle on the final component and is evaluating a sensor from the Samsung HP series. As an aside, Oppo even tested an even more gigantic 1/1.12-inch sensor early in development, without ever signing off on it.
- The second periscope: a 50-megapixel super telephoto (1/1.95-inch) capable of delivering native 10x optical zoom. This is the lens that captures distant subjects without any loss of detail or destructive reliance on digital zoom.
Combining these two optics will deliver surgical sharpness at intermediate focal lengths as well as at extreme distances. Paired with Hasselblad’s colour processing, this camera cluster is said to offer extended dynamic range and a faithful rendering of textures, including in tricky night-time conditions.
BOE display and 2 nm power
Elsewhere on the spec sheet, the Ultra makes no compromises. The phone will sport a huge 6.89-inch display supplied by BOE. This 2K LTPO OLED panel is set to stand out with ultra-thin symmetrical bezels and support for the BT.2020 colour space for absolute colour accuracy. Adaptive LTPO technology also lowers the refresh rate on static content, and therefore saves energy.
On the performance front, the device will cross a historic threshold by adopting Qualcomm’s future Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, a next-generation processor that will benefit from TSMC’s cutting-edge 2 nm process — a guarantee of maximum computing power for real-time image processing.
Towards an absolute battery life record?
The other dizzying figure coming out of Oppo’s labs concerns power. The manufacturer is currently testing prototypes whose battery comfortably exceeds 7,000 mAh. The most persistent rumours point to a colossal final capacity of nearly 8,500 mAh, made possible by advances in silicon-carbon cells, which are far denser for the same volume. The whole package is said to be backed by fast wired and wireless charging.
If that makes it to the production model, Oppo will sweep away any form of battery anxiety, even with a screen of this size.
