Is a monthly subscription required?

No. When you buy the hardware, the manufacturer systematically includes one or two years (depending on the model) of free software updates to add newly released vehicles. Once that period is over, the scan tool continues to work perfectly; you will only pay if you wish to download the database of brand-new cars released after that coverage period.

Can these tools clear any warning light?

The tool commands the onboard computer and can force the fault code history to be erased. The dashboard light will go out. However, if the mechanical problem (a failed lambda sensor, for example) has not been physically repaired under the bonnet, the car's computer will detect the fault again as soon as you restart and will switch the light back on.

How do I know if my car is compatible?
