Vivo X500 FE: a fifth model joins the X500 range

📌 Updated 2 September 2026 — The Vivo X500 FE has just been registered in the GSMA’s international database under the references V2653 and V2654, as well as in the records of the Eurasian Economic Commission. A fifth variant is therefore joining the X500 series, and the whole range is now filed in global versions — the ones that leave China. We sold the two previous FE models: this one will reach us too.

While enthusiasts keep their eyes on Vivo’s Chinese autumn line-up, the range has quietly gained an extra member. The family of flagships looked settled; a newcomer has just walked into the paperwork.

The confirmation comes from the GSMA, which lists a Vivo X500 FE under two distinct model numbers: V2653 and V2654. That kind of pairing usually corresponds to network band variations between regions. The V2653 has also passed through the Eurasian Economic Commission, a certification that goes with versions intended for export.

What these filings really say — and what they do not

A device does not turn up in the GSMA’s IMEI database by accident. Registration there is the mandatory step before any commercial release, and it signals that a model exists in a shippable form rather than only on an engineer’s drawing.

One clarification is worth making, because the mistake travels widely: EEC here stands for the Eurasian Economic Commission — the customs union of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. It is not a European authorisation, and a certification obtained there tells you nothing about availability in the European Union. What it does tell you is useful all the same: an export variant is genuinely being prepared, as opposed to the models that stay inside the Chinese market.

The stronger signal sits next door. The entire range is now filed in global versions — the ones we stock, carrying the frequency bands and the services expected outside China:

• X500e: registered as V2632 (covered in our article on the X500e).
• X500: registered as V2619 (see our full rundown of the Vivo X500).
• X500 Pro: registered as V2621 (detailed in our piece on the X500 Pro).
• X500 Pro Max: registered as V2610 (analysed on our page about the X500 Pro Max).

Seeing the whole range filed in global form confirms what our own experience already tells us: these devices exist in a version built to leave China, and they do reach us. We sold the X200 FE, we stock the X300 FE; there is little reason for the X500 FE to be the exception. The X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max will be unveiled in China during September 2026, and their global versions should carry over the essentials of those specifications, allowing for the usual software adjustments.

What the “FE” badge has meant at Vivo so far

The arrival of a fifth model raises a fair question: where will it sit on the brand’s board?

Two generations let us answer, and we have had both in hand: we stock the Vivo X300 FE just as we stocked the Vivo X200 FE before it. The family resemblance is hard to miss:

• A compact format held from one generation to the next: 6.31 inches on both, at 186 then 191 grams. At a time when flagships sail past 6.7 inches, that is the promise of a phone that still slips into a pocket and works in one hand.
• A battery that does not pay for that compactness: 6,500 mAh on both generations, where you would expect a cell trimmed down to fit a narrower chassis.
• A flagship chip, with no loyalty to one foundry: Dimensity 9300+ on the X200 FE, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 on the X300 FE. Vivo switches silicon between generations, so the X500 FE may well surprise on that front.

The FE is not a cut-price model, then: it is the compact of the range, the one that refuses to trade endurance for bulk. Whether the X500 FE holds that line remains to be seen — Vivo has never promised it would, and nothing has leaked about this one.

Expected Vivo X500 FE specifications

Let us be perfectly clear: no technical specification of the Vivo X500 FE has been confirmed to date. Neither the display size, nor the chipset, nor the battery capacity is known.

Some caution is in order regarding the spec pages already circulating, which announce a 6.31-inch display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, 6,500 mAh and 191 grams. Those numbers did not come from nowhere: line for line, they are those of the Vivo X300 FE we carry — same diagonal, same 2640 × 1216 resolution, same processor clocked at 3.8 GHz, same Sony IMX921 sensor. A previous-generation template auto-filled under an “X500 FE” label. The page publishing them elsewhere states that no specification of the X500 FE is known.

Vivo X500 FE price and availability

Vivo has announced no price for the newcomer. The best reference point remains the X300 FE, whose listing is up to date in our shop: it is the most honest comparison available while nothing has leaked.

Release date: the range is taking shape, the FE has no calendar

With the main models due to be unveiled in China in September 2026, the global line-up is falling into place. No date has emerged for the X500 FE itself, however, and its registration says nothing about one: an administrative filing precedes a release by anything from a few weeks to several months, with no fixed schedule.

Conclusion

The Vivo X500 FE exists: its GSMA registration and its Eurasian homologation leave little room for doubt, and the whole X500 range is now filed in global versions. Everything else is still to be established — display, processor, battery, price, date. The two previous FE generations sketch a likely profile, that of a compact around 6.3 inches which does not trade battery life for size; Vivo has promised nothing of the sort for this one.
