Realme Returns to Oppo: What This Major Reshuffle Really Means

A report published by Lei Feng Network reveals that Oppo is making a crucial adjustment to its internal structure. This strategic move marks the official return of Realme to the Oppo ecosystem as a sub-brand, sitting alongside OnePlus.

Far from a simple game of musical chairs, the shake-up is meant to optimise resources and clarify where each brand stands.

A new structure: Oppo, OnePlus and Realme

According to the report, Oppo has decided to bring Realme back in as an official sub-brand. The goal is clear: strengthen collaboration between teams and streamline the use of internal resources (R&D, production lines).

The group’s new hierarchy shapes up like this:

  1. Oppo: the main, premium brand.
  2. OnePlus and Realme: two “twin” and complementary sub-brands, each keeping its own market strategy to avoid overlap.

Leadership changes and a unified after-sales network

Management roles have been clarified to support the transition. Sky Li, founder and CEO of Realme, will take charge of overseeing the sub-brands’ global operations. Li Jie, meanwhile, will continue to lead OnePlus in China with no change to his current remit.

For buyers, the most tangible change concerns after-sales service. Realme will now be fully plugged into Oppo’s after-sales network. That means Realme owners will benefit from the coverage and service quality of the Oppo network, a significant improvement, particularly in key markets.

No impact on product launches

Despite the organisational upheaval, fans can relax: the product calendar remains unchanged. The report, corroborated by leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS), states that the roadmap for new devices is unaffected.

Indeed, that roadmap is running to schedule with the imminent launch of the Realme Neo 8, due to be unveiled in China this very month.

Conclusion

By bringing Realme back into the fold and placing it on the same footing as OnePlus, Oppo is aiming for a more coherent and efficient structure. With shared technical resources and a unified after-sales network, the group hopes to consolidate its market dominance while giving each brand the room it needs to cultivate its own identity.
