Realme is stepping up the drip-feed of teasers around its new Realme 16 Pro series. After showing off its “Luma” colour imaging technology, the brand has now revealed the full design and availability of the Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+. And for this generation, the manufacturer has clearly decided to go all in on looks by teaming up once again with a design legend.
The return of master designer Naoto Fukasawa
To shape the look of this new line-up, Realme called on renowned industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. Famous for his minimalist approach, he had already worked with the brand on the well-known “Master Editions”.
The official images reveal a beautifully finished handset. There’s an interesting play of textures here, with a matte rear panel contrasting against a glossy camera module. That camera block, incidentally, is more than a little reminiscent of the OnePlus 15’s, only flipped horizontally, which creates a very distinctive two-tone aesthetic.
The series will be available in a range of elegant colours: Camellia Pink, Orchid Purple, Master Gold and Pebble Grey.
A launch on 6 January 2026?
While the brand has yet to give a global date, the Indian launch is expected on 6 January 2026. Availability has already been confirmed on the Flipkart platform.
Realme 16 Pro+: a beefed-up spec sheet
Beyond the design, the Realme 16 Pro+ is shaping up to be a proper performer. Based on the information available so far, it is said to be powered by a Snapdragon chip (potentially more powerful than the 7 Gen 4).
Rumours point to a massive 7,000 mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. The front of the phone is tipped to feature a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, along with a 50 MP selfie camera.
Round the back, versatility appears to be the watchword with a triple camera setup: a 200-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and, above all, a periscope telephoto lens, marking the grand return of that technology to the range.
