Oppo is hard at work on the next generation of its foldable line-up, with the eagerly awaited Oppo Find N7. According to details shared by leaker Digital Chat Station, the new model is said to move away from narrow form factors in favour of a wider design, falling in line with where the market is heading.
Slated for launch in the first quarter of 2027, it already looks like a serious contender in the ultra-premium segment.
A wide format and a screen with no visible crease
The Find N7 is tipped to mark a major ergonomic shift. Current prototypes feature a 5.5-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch foldable inner display supplied by Samsung Display and BOE. That shorter, wider ratio should deliver something close to a small tablet once opened, making navigation and multitasking easier.
To round things off, Oppo is reportedly fitting a next-generation hinge mechanism designed to leave the display completely free of any visible crease, addressing the main criticism levelled at today’s foldables.
A 2 nm chip and a local AI accelerator
Under the bonnet, the phone is shaping up as a showcase of raw power. It is currently being evaluated with Qualcomm’s upcoming processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, potentially making it the world’s very first foldable to adopt this 2 nm chip. To support its software ecosystem, the brand is also said to be testing a dedicated hardware accelerator for artificial intelligence built straight into the device (on-device AI).
The feat of a 6500 mAh battery
This is the headline figure from the leak: Oppo is targeting a battery capacity of around 6500 mAh, thanks to advances in silicon-carbon cells. Squeezing that kind of endurance into an especially slim foldable chassis is a genuine tour de force, and it would let the Find N7 comfortably outclass rival models from Samsung or Apple.
As for the rear design, the brand is currently weighing up two configurations for its camera module: a large, classic circular island and a cleaner horizontal layout.
