In the race for extreme performance and record endurance, Honor is about to cross a historic line. Confirmed by the manufacturer’s official posters and by regulatory databases, its next flagship series will include, for the very first time, a variant positioned at the absolute top of its catalogue: the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max.

With the launch event set for 28 September 2026 in Beijing by Li Jian, CEO of Honor, the technical details relayed by Digital Chat Station and the Honor Club community point to an imposing spec sheet. Built without compromise for the most demanding users, this super-flagship redefines the benchmarks for endurance and professional video creation.

Honor Magic 9 Pro Max: a colossal 10,000 mAh battery and 100 W wireless charging

This is unquestionably the headline figure: the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max would carry a 10,000 mAh battery. Where the market average for flagships sits between 5,000 and 7,000 mAh, Honor would draw on its silicon-carbon cell technology to offer a reserve that should get close to three days of endurance in standard use.

That gigantic capacity implies a physical trade-off the manufacturer fully accepts: the device comes in at 232 grams for a thickness of 8.9 mm. An imposing frame, but a perfectly justified one for anyone who refuses to reach for a charger during an intensive day.

Power delivery clears a second remarkable bar: the phone would support 120 W wired fast charging (certification filings having recorded 100 W on some variants) and, above all, wireless charging climbing to 100 W — an induction speed rarely reached in the industry.

A large 2K 6.89-inch display and extreme IP69K water resistance

The display would be entrusted to an OLED LTPO panel of 6.89 inches in 2K resolution, protected by flat 2.5D glass. The screen would benefit from an adaptive refresh rate and very high-frequency PWM dimming, to eliminate flicker and protect the eyes.

On durability, the Magic 9 Pro Max would be the only announced model with the dual IP68 and IP69K certification. Where IP68 guarantees resistance to prolonged immersion, IP69K attests to protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, ensuring complete sealing in the harshest environments.

The metal chassis would be paired with a frosted AG glass back or, exclusively on this Pro Max, a luxurious vegan leather finish. Biometric security combines an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the display with 3D structured-light face recognition on the front.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, and the possibility of active cooling

To drive its standard-bearer, Honor would fit the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, built on 2 nm by TSMC and clocked high.

A recent Chinese certification also indicates that one model in the range is testing an active cooling system with a built-in fan. While that remains at the stage of a technical hypothesis, the Pro Max is the most logical candidate to house it, sustaining peak frequencies through long gaming sessions or 4K video exports.

Everything runs on MagicOS, enriched with autonomous AI agents able to handle complex contextual commands, backed by powerful dual 1216 speakers.

ARRI cinema optics: dual 200 MP, CIPA 7.0 stabilisation and Log at every focal length

The rear module, marked by a large circular island in the top left signed by ARRI, positions itself as a filmmaking tool:

• 200 MP main sensor: ultra-high definition for a bright capture and an exceptional level of detail.
• 200 MP periscope telephoto: dedicated to long-range shots and portraits with surgical sharpness.
• Optical stabilisation rated CIPA 7.0: this professional standard compensates micro-movements with an effectiveness equal to seven stops of shutter speed, allowing sharp handheld shots in very low light.
• 4K at 120 fps in LogC at every focal length: thanks to the joint engineering with ARRI, moving from wide-angle to telephoto preserves the same colour and the same dynamic range for professional grading in post.

Preliminary price estimates place the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max from 6,999 yuan in China (around 855 euros at the current rate). As usual, final prices for the European market will be adjusted when the official global versions launch.

The presentation will take place on 28 September 2026 in Beijing alongside the compact Magic 9 and the Magic 9 Pro.
